Employers play a key role in the development of their staff, and build a workforce tailored to the sector. Employers can choose to upskill an existing workforce or recruit an apprentice to enhance their existing provision.

Who is eligible to be an apprentice?
- An existing employee
- 16 years or over
- Living in England more than 6 months
- Have the right to work in England
- Not in full-time education
How long does an apprenticeship last for?
Apprenticeships can last for 1 to 5 years depending on the apprenticeship you apply for.
Recruitment of Apprentices
APAC will support employers to recruit apprentices. Once an employer informs us, they have a vacancy for an apprentice we will advertise the vacancy on the gov.uk site. This will enable us to support to you as an employer to engage the most suitable candidate for your apprenticeship vacancy.


Apprenticeship Levy
Apprenticeships are paid for by the employer’s apprenticeship levy, where the total amount of the levy does not cover the cost of the apprenticeship the employer will pay the additional 5% directly to the main training provider.
